Go watch the lunar eclipse!

The lunar eclipse is visible tonight!

Totality begins at 10:01 pm Eastern time.

This is the last total lunar eclipse until 2010 - so it is great to get the kids seeing it.

Were you able to see it? We were overcast here. When our kiddos were still at home we did all that too. Fun memories. Once, at around 4am we took the kids to this guys home who had a big telescope set up to view a big comet. DD was ticked off and went under protest...and then totally refused to look through the telescope. In fact she refused to look at the SKY! That girl is stubborn! (I warned her new hubby ;)

Yes! We got to see the eclipse in totality - but it was overcast off and on, so we didn't get to see all of the stages like I had hoped.

Still, we got to see the moon with "bites taken out of it" - as my kids described it. And we got to see it totally eclipsed.

I am an astronomy buff - so this was exciting to me. This week we have been studying the moon and the way an eclpise works.

We were able to see it...the boys LOVED it! I took a few pics but they didn't turn out too well. It was so cold that I was shivering so needless to say the camera was moving while I was taking the pics too! The moon was quite a blurry mess...LOL!
